چکیده
Abstract Background The Spo0B-associated GTP-binding protein (Obg) GTPase, has diverse and important functions in bacteria, including morphological development, DNA replication ribosome maturation. Homologs of the Bacillus subtilis Obg have been also found chloroplast Oryza sativa , but their primary roles remain unknown. Results We clarify that OsObgC1 is a functional homolog AtObgC. mutant obgc1-d1 exhibited hypersensitivity to inhibitor hydroxyurea. Quantitative PCR results showed ratio nuclear mutants was higher than wild-type plants. After DAPI staining, abnormal nucleoid architectures. specific punctate staining pattern OsObgC1-GFP signal suggests this localizes nucleoids. Furthermore, loss-of-function mutation led severe suppression biosynthesis by affecting plastid rRNA processing. It demonstrated through profiling processing decreased obgc1-d mutants, which resulted impaired biogenesis. sucrose density gradient profiles revealed defective maturation mutants. Conclusion Our findings here indicate retains evolutionarily biological conserved prokaryotic Obg, acts as signaling hub regulates biogenesis

Chloroplast Ribosome Biogenesis in Chlamydomonas
Chloroplast protein synthesis in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii is dispensable when cells are provided acetate as a carbon source. Mutants defective in synthesis, assembly, or function of chloroplast ribosomes are therefore conditionally viable. Positive selection of nonphotosynthetic cells on arsenate has been combined with a simple screening procedure to isolate mutants with a broad spectrum of de...

15 صفحه اولSfp1 plays a key role in yeast ribosome biogenesis.
Sfp1, an unusual zinc finger protein, was previously identified as a gene that, when overexpressed, imparted a nuclear localization defect. sfp1 cells have a reduced size and a slow growth phenotype. In this study we show that SFP1 plays a role in ribosome biogenesis. An sfp1 strain is hypersensitive to drugs that inhibit translational machinery. sfp1 strains also have defects in global transla...
متن کاملOryza sativa Chloroplast Signal Recognition Particle 43 (OscpSRP43) Is Required for Chloroplast Development and Photosynthesis
A rice chlorophyll-deficient mutant w67 was isolated from an ethyl methane sulfonate (EMS)-induced IR64 (Oryza sativa L. ssp. indica) mutant bank. The mutant exhibited a distinct yellow-green leaf phenotype in the whole plant growth duration with significantly reduced levels of chlorophyll and carotenoid, impaired chloroplast development and lowered capacity of photosynthesis compared with the ...
متن کاملChloroplast replication and chloroplast DNA synthesis in spinach leaves
Cultured leaf disks from young spinach leaves have been used to study chloroplast DNA synthesis in relation to chloroplast growth and repli cation. Autoradiographs prepared from thin sections show th a t labelling throughout disks is uniform. We consider th a t cultured leaf disks serve as a model system for studies of cell expansion and chloroplast replication during the development of spinac...
